In Belgium, Fortis Real Estate is considered to be the largest real estate asset manager with assets under management currently close to 4 billion Euros invested in office buildings, shopping malls and other retail, semi-industrial and residential properties throughout Belgium.

The two primary goals of the Asset Management team are:

• Maximizing recurring financial revenues generated by the portfolio by maintaining the quality of the buildings in order to retain and attract first rate tenants;
• Realizing significant capital gains by selecting the best properties and buying and selling them with the most appropriate timing.

The properties are either held:

• by Fortis as an investment portfolio or corporate buildings for its own activities,
• or by third party owners (real estate certificate holders, real estate investment trusts or other real estate investors).

The properties of Fortis are managed by product specialized teams:

• Offices & Semi-industrial
• Retail & Housing

Third party clients (not part of Fortis) are served by a separate team located in a distinct company, a structure specially set up to avoid any conflict of interest.

The Asset Management team employs approximately 105 persons in Belgium.
